Hello, don't know about you all but I am more than ready for the weekend, been a very busy week with kids activities, although the weekend doesn't look to be any less busy, we have 3 soccer games and a band competition this weekend. Phew, I am tired just from thinking about it. :)
Anyway on to the card. I made this card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. It is for my Niece who's birthday is today (Happy Birthday Nicole!). It came together pretty quickly and had hardly any stamping. You can't see it in the picture but I stamped little flowers in Versamark Frost ink. I don't know what punch made the leaves as they were given to me by a friend. Thanks for looking.

From Our Patch
Hello, I accomplished two challenges with this card. It was Lisa's turn to pick a challenge and she picked the Spotlighting technique. I had never done this before, it was pretty easy and fun to do, always fun to try something new, right? The second challenge was the one that Lisa and I are doing together. We have decided to pick one stamp set each week and make as many cards as we can using that set. We both decided we have a lot of stamps that haven't seen ink in awhile and they needed some love. This is my last card using the GinaK Designs Falling For You stamp set. It is a fun fall card. Kinda fitting since tomorrow is the first day of fall. :)
Well, I am off to decide on what my next stamp set will be. Have a great weekend. Thanks for looking.

Hoppy Birthday!
I made this card for my Cousin's little boy's first birthday. I used the GinaK set that I picked to use for the week. I love this frog he is so happy and cute, easy to color. I paper pieced his belly. I was going to put googlie eyes on him but I forgot. I used twine around the square to give the present feel. Don't know if you can see it in the picture but I used a Versamark frosted ink on the main card base, and used two party stamps from Hero Arts. Over all it I like how it turned out. Thanks for looking.

Emboss Resist
Hello, Here is another card using the stamp set of the week. :) This is going to be a great way to put my stamps to good use, what a great idea you had Lisa. :)
I am using the Falling for You stamp set this week, I used the fern image this time. I embossed the fern and did the emboss resist technique. I also used some scrap pieces of ribbon in the upper right hand corner.
I have more cards that I have made with this set and will upload those tomorrow. Have a great day, thanks for looking.

Just Chicken In
Hello, I have a card here that takes care of two challenges (love that). The first challenge is a challenge that my friend Lisa and I started on Sept 1. We decided to pick one stamp/stamp set a week and make as many cards as we can using that stamp set. The set that I have chosen to use this week is the GinaK Designs Falling for You set. I am having a lot of fun with it. I have 4 cards that I have made so far with this set so keep checking in and see what else I have made. :)
The second challenge was the newest sketch from Freshly Made Sketch. As you can see this is a pretty easy sketch (which are the best). I stamped the chicken and colored it in with markers and than stamped him again on scrap designer paper and paper pieced the wing and one of the tail feathers. I used my Martha Stewart boarder punch on the brown card stock and mounted another piece of designer paper to the brown card stock. Cut out the chicken with my square Nestabilities, embossed and then inked around the square. You can't really see it in the picture but I used my glitter glue pen and put some glitter on the red parts around the chicken's head (not sure what those are called, LOL). Thanks for looking.

Vellum Butterflies
Hello, I finally got my challenge card done that I have going with my fellow pen pals. It was my choice for the challenge and I decided we would use vellum on our cards. I don't use a lot of vellum so I thought it was time to break it out and put it to good use. :) I have a pink marbled card stock for my base and I embossed white card stock with a Cuttlebug folder and used my chalks to color it, than I punched out my butterflies in various colors of vellum and glued them to the embossed card stock. I really like how it turned out, not sure if I should add a few more little butterflies or not though, what do y'all think? Thanks for looking.

Fall is in the Air
Hello, Okay fall really isn't in the air here in Iowa, that is just wishful thinking on my part. LOL But for some reason I felt like making a harvest card. I used the Freshly Made Sketch #45 this was such a fun sketch and a great way to use up scraps. Not sure if you can see it in the picture but I stamped the sentiment in the lower right hand corner in black, should have used some craft ink or chalk ink instead. But overall I really like how it turned out. Thanks for looking. :)

Get Well!
Hello, Get well cards are another card that I don't make often, but my Mom put in a request for some. I used a sketch from the Paper Crafts Card Sketches for Paper Crafters. It is a great book with lots of idea's in it. This card came together fast. I stamped the water bottle and colored it in with markers, glittered the red heart and cut it out than popped it up on a pop dot. I wrapped the ribbon around it, but not sure i like how it looks. I think it is my bow, need to work on them some. :) Thanks for looking.
This is the book I used for the sketch.

2 Challenges in One.
Hello, I was actually able to do 2 challenges on this card. The first challenge was making a wedding card. It was Beverly's turn to pick the challenge and that is what she picked. The second was the Freshly Made Sketch #42. It was fun to combine both challenges. I usually always start out my cards with a sketch, I just work better starting that way. How do you decide to start your cards? This card came together pretty quick, I used Glaze pens on the window and lights on the car. I wanted to use Paper Glaze on the window but since I hadn't used it in a while it wasn't working right and I had to throw it out. I will have to pick some more up when I am out and about. Anyway, thanks Beverly for a great challenge and FMS for another great sketch. Thanks for looking.

Celebrate!
Here is a card that I made using a image that was sent to by my friend Lisa (thanks Lisa). I used Freshly Made Sketches #40, they have the best sketches. I colored the image with markers and used ovals to layer it. I had a hard time with the ovals as I didn't have a good set for layering. But I like the overall look of the card. :) Thanks for looking.

Something cool
Hello, I am finally getting my challenge card posted. Took me awhile but here it is. It was Becki's turn to come up with a challenge for us and she decided that since it has been so hot out that we should do something that had to do with a drink or water. Well after a search through all my stamps I found that I have absolutely nothing that related to either drinking or water. I will have to remedy that. :) Any who, I had to raid my Daughter Kaitlyn's stamps. I found a seahorse to use. This card came together very easy. I colored the horse with colored pencils and added Stickles to the bubbles. I also used a goolie eye just to add some fun. I embossed the blue card stock with the bubble embossing folder to make it looked like water.
I didn't have a good sentiment to go with it so I left one off. I figured it would make a good kids card.
Our next challenge is to make a wedding card. Already have idea's going on in my head. :) Thanks for looking.

Stamps:Unknown
Ink: Tuxedo Black-Momento
Paper: Yellow-Die Cuts With A View, Blue-The Paper Studio

Party Hats.
Hello, this card came together really quick. I saw a similar card here and thought it would make a cute kids card. I stamped the flags and cut them out and used pop dots to pop them up. I put a button in tip of the triangle so that they would look like party hats. I used my new Ribbon Tag Tio 2 Nestabilities for the sentiment. Easy Peasy. Thanks for looking.
Have a great 4th of July. We will be sending it with Richard's family. :) See ya'll when we get back.

Fore You!
Happy Monday!! Hope everyone had a great weekend and managed to stay cool. It is still hot here in Iowa and we are in desperate need of some rain.
This is the card I made for my challenge with Lisa. It was her pick and she picked a masculine card. I don't have a lot of masculine stamps and I needed some masculine cards for my Mom. I found this golf stamp in my stash and decided to ink it up. I searched for a sketch that I liked and found this one from Clean and Simple, I just don't know the number of it. I inked up the stamp and colored it with markers, stamped the golf ball again and cut it out, and embossed it with the swiss dots folder so that it would have the little dents in it and popped it up with a pop dot. It was such a fun card to make that I made 2. LOL I think I will make a few more, but do them in girlie colors, cuz I am told girls golf too. :) Thanks for looking. Stay cool.

Split Negative, FMS#41
Hello, This card was made for my challenge with Lisa. We decided to do the Split Negative technique. I have wanted to give this a try for awhile now, and it seemed like a good challenge for Lisa and I. It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, love when that happens. First I cut out two large squares using my Nesties. Than I put a little adhesive on the back of the square and lined it up perfectly on my self healing mat, than used my stampa ma jig and stamped on first the green cardstock and embossed it in white. I repeated the process again on the white cardstock and embossed it in green. I than laid the 2 squared on top of each other and cut them right down the middle. They lined up perfectly. I decided to use the Freshly Made Sketch #41. I also made the card a square one, I don't make square cards very often but the tree stamp just looks better on a square card. I really had a lot of fun with this technique and have the other halves of the tree's to make another one. Thanks for looking.
