Birthday/Gift Card Holder

Hello, Hope your are all enjoying a nice Fall season and managing to stay healthy. We have been extremely busy with Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and basketball games. But I have finally found some time to add this card that I made for my bestest friend Lisa (Hi! Lisa, hehehe) It was very simple to make. I used Stampin Up's Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. Stamped it with Momento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Prisma Pencils and OMS. I used Sukura Glitter Pens to add some glitter to the frosting and the cherry. I inked all the edges with Basic Brown ink from SU. Very easy peasy. :) Thanks for looking. Enjoy your day.

Halloween Treats

Hello, hope everyone had a great Halloween. I made these chocolate suckers and spiders for my kids to take to school with them. They were very easy to make. I used the Candy Melts from Wilton. I melted the candy in plastic squeeze bottles and used Halloween Molds that I got at Michael's. I had to make 62 for the kids to take to school. But I got so into making them that I made way to many so the kids were able to give some to other teachers that they have. I made the spiders for their main teachers. But they needed to be put in something so I made 6 of the boxes. Dawn's Stampin Studio is where I found the idea for the boxes. She has great how to video's. :) You can get 2 boxes out of one sheet of 81/2 x 11 piece of card stock. I stamped the top of the box with spiders in Versamark ink. Wrapped the ribbon around the top added the "Happy Halloween" and popped it up. I die cut the spider and popped him up but he was missing something so decided to add the googlie eye's now he looks cute. I lined the bottom of the box with wax paper to keep the bottom "clean". The boxes were really easy to make and didn't take any time at all. Enjoy your first day of November, can't believe there are only 2 months left of 2011. It sure went fast. Thanks for looking.

Finally A Card to Post

Hello, it has been a long time since my last post. We had a very busy summer to say the least. But school is back in session. So I am hoping to be able to post more regularly. I was able to go to a crop this past weekend, so I got a few cards made. It felt good to get back to my stamps and paper. :) My first card is a pretty simple one, I like simple. LOL I had a lot of fun coloring this image. I use to use Prisma pencils and baby oil to color my images but switch to Prisma pencils and odorless mineral spirits and I really like the results much better. So much easier to blend the colors. Hello again. This card came together pretty easy. I used my scoring board to embossed the lines on the bottom half of the white card stock. Then stamped baby in black ink and used a blue marker to color it in. Wrapped blue ribbon around it and matted onto a blue card base. I than added blue rhinestones where the lines intersected. That is is, nothing to it. :) Thanks for looking.

Hello again,

Here are a couple more cards that I made last weekend. I really like how they turned out. I used my Versa Mark pad and stamped a small flower and a small butterfly on the card base. I stamped the images in black ink and colored them in with colored pencils and baby oil. I used a glaze pen on the darker part of the buckets and used glitter pens on the flowers. Very easy peasy. I will be posting a baby card tomorrow. Thanks for looking. :)

Hope ya'll are enjoying your summer so far. Ours is in full swing. Kids are keeping me busy. I have managed to needle out some time to make a few cards though. I made this one with the 4th of July in mind. I just love this little dog, he is waiting patiently for his "Marine" to come home. :) The saying is what I stamped on the inside of the card, and I think is says it all. Masuline Birthday

Okay, I don't know about any of you, but I really have a hard time making Masculine cards. One because I don't have a lot of stamps that can be used for a man. I tend to go more towards that flowers and such for stamps. And I had asked my dear friend Lisa if she had any idea's. Well, she had sent me this tree stamp for my Birthday and said that it would be good for masculine cards. Well, I inked it up and this is what I came up with. So what do you think? Is this a good masculine card? There is no bling what so ever one it so I figured it would be good to send to a man. hehehe I took a Curved Rectangle Nestabilities and cut out the shape on a piece of scratch paper than placed it over the card front and inked up the open space, stamped the tree and sentiment in a darker ink. It took me all of 5 Min's to make, gotta love that. LOL Thanks for looking.

2 New Techniques in One Card

Hello again. I have a few cards to show you today. This card I managed to get 2 new techniques ( new to me anyway) done. First was the Cracked Glass Technique. I have really had fun with this one and is so easy. I stamped the image in brown ink and colored it in using markers. I than did 3 coats of the Ultra Thick embossing powder and put it in the freezer for 5 mins and than cracked it. I did rub ink over the cracks to kind of antique it a bit. The second technique was the marble technique. I loved doing this one too. Since it was the first time I had done it I just used one color of ink to make the background paper. Next time I will try more than one. :) I hope that you will give both of these techniques a try they are a lot of fun. Thanks for looking.

Hello, Hope Y'all are enjoying nice weather. We are finally seeing some sun here in Iowa and have had really nice temps. Supposed to hit 72 today but of course they are talking about snow in the forecast for Friday, oh the joys of living the Midwest again. :) Anyway, enough about the weather. This card is my challenge card for the challenges that my friend Lisa and I have been doing. This challenge we had to get all the elements for a card and send them to each other. She sent me all the stuff to do the Cracked Glass Technique. I had never done this technique before and I have to say it was a lot of fun. Thanks Lisa. :) Thanks for looking.

This card has a lot of embossing on it, but it was fun to make. I did the Rubber Band Emboss Technique from over at StampTV . This also covers the new challenge for Lisa and I. We had to do the brayer with rubber bands around it technique and I loved the way Gina K. did hers over at StampTV, so this is what I did. :) I took off the roller and wrapped rubber bands around it, then re-attached the roller to the handle. I than rolled the brayer in Versamark ink and rolled the brayer across white cardstock. I than applied gold embossing power and heat embossed it. Than I turned the white cardstock and again used the Versamark ink and rolled it over the cardstock and applied the gold embossing powder and embossed. Than I sponged ink over the entire piece and wiped the gold embossing lines off with a tissue. This is my background layer on the card. Than I embossed the butterfly in black and used my water color crayons to color it in. The hardest part was remembering to keep my fingers out of the embossing powder before I had the chance to emboss it. Another Sketch Challenge

This sketch challenge comes from the Wednesday Sketch Challenge 323 over at Splitcoaststampers. I stamped the image and embossed it in black. I colored the image with Sakura Glaze pens (love, love, love these pens), used Nesties to cut out the images, tied some ribbon around the image and adhered to the top layer. Than adhered everything to the Kraft card base. Very easy peasy. Thanks for looking, have a great day. :)

2 Challenges in One.

This card takes care of 2 challenges. One is the sketch challenge for Use It Tuesday's and the other is for a challenge between myself and my very good friend Lisa (Hi Lisa, hehe). We have decided to do challenges together as away to keep us motivated and inspired. Our challenge was to create a card using pastel colors but we couldn't use pink (which is Lisa's favorite color) or blue (which is my favorite color). This was a very hard challenge for me not because I couldn't use blue or pink but because of the pastel color in general, I don't use these colors a lot when I make cards, I tend to steer more towards the Earth tones or dark colors. So on that note, I haven't decided yet whether or not I like this card, What do ya'll think? Thanks for Looking Have a great day.

I made this card for Richard's cousin who hasn't been feeling well, thought it might cheer her up a bit and let her know that we are thinking about her. I stamped the flowers on white cardstock with Versamark ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I than cut the image out with my rectangle nestie and used sponges to sponge over the image. I used a tissue to wipe the ink off the image. I made the base out of green cardstock, embossed the white panel with a Cuttlebug folder, put some ribbon on it than adhered it to the base, i layered the image with green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment and used my circle nesties to cut it out along with a piece of green and layered them together. I adhered the image and used pop dots for the sentiment. Happy Monday. I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was chilly and rainy weekend here in Iowa so it made for a great day of stamping. :) I stamped this bird on white cardstock and colored it with markers and cut it out with my rectangle nesties. I sponged ink on the image and the white panel. The base is dark brown layered with white, than a brown piece of cardstock. I layered the image on brown cardstock and added the brads and the sentiment. It came together rather quickly and I really like how it turned out. Thanks for looking, have a great day. :)

Use It Tuesday's Challenge

Nothing like waiting until the last day to get the challenge done but a least it is done. LOL The challenge was to use a Designer paper that you had been hoarding for like ever. It was a fun and hard challenge, I just hate cutting into all that pretty paper. I chose to use some Easter egg paper that I have had for a long time. I stamped my image and embossed it with black embossing powder and colored it using my SU markers. I also used Fun Flock on the bunny and chick and used my Sakura Clear Glitter pen in various spots. I really like how it turned out, I love to color so this image is a fun one for me. Thanks for looking, have a great day.

Card Box

This is a Card Box that I made for my Mom to give to the teacher that she works with. I love how it turned out. I used my new Cricut (thanks Marcine, :) ) to make the dividers and the text and images I put on them. The picture doesn't show it as well but the paper on the box that has the swirls on it is actually a lime green color, it matches the ribbon and flowers very nicely. I used the Don Juan, Simply Sweet and From my Kitchen cartridges. Various cardstock scraps. the DP is from Hobby Lobby as are the flowers and ribbon. I really had a lot of fun making it. Hello,

I fell in love with this card when I saw an ad for Gina K Designs in one of my Cardmaker magazines and I just had to CAS it. :) It really came together easy. I used yellow cardstock for the base. First I stamped the flowers onto a piece of white cardstock, than used a green marker and a ruler to make the stems for the flowers. I put brads in the center of each flower than mounted it on black cardstock, stamped the sentiment and mounted everything onto the yellow card base. Thanks for looking.

Christmas Card

This is the Christmas Card that I created to send out in 2010. I had a lot of fun making them. They came together pretty easy. The embossing is what took the longest, but I worked assembly style so it wasn't so bad. I love to work assembly style when I have a lot of the same card to make, usually just for Holiday's. It is what works best for me. :)

Gate Fold Cards

Hello again,

Wow how lucky are you to get two posts in one day. LOL These two cards are gate fold cards. First time I have made them. I really like this fold. I used my Martha Stewart scoring board to make the folds. Works like a charm. :-) The background on the first card was made using a brayer with rubber bands wrapped around it. I found the technique on Stamp TV. I colored both images with colored pencils and blended them with baby oil. Used my Nesties to cut out the image and mat it. They both came together pretty quickly. Here is a quick card that I made this morning. I just love Daisies, they are my favorite flower, so cute and cheery. :-) I used white for the card base and stamped the daisy in brown ink, colored it in with markers and used some fun flock for the center. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink under the flower. Very easy peasy.

Hello,

I made these gift tags for DH's cousin as a gift. I really enjoyed making them. They were very quick and easy to make. I stamped the image in black on white card stock. Used various SU markers to color in the snowman's coat, mittens, and hat. I used white Fun Flock on the trim for the hat and the ball on top of the hat. Used the Sakura Glaze Pens for the candy cane and Stickles for the bottom part of snowman and the snow under the snowman and the snow flakes. Than I cut the images out using the rectangle Nesties and cut out colors to mat the image using the scallop rectangle Nesties, it is a great way to use up scraps. I am going to make up some more for gifts. My plan is to make up some for other occasions, too. :) Thanks for looking.

Halloween Wedding

Hello,

I know your surprised to hear from me twice in one day, but I have another card to show you. LOL

My mom needed a card for a cousin that is getting married on October 30Th. They want people to dress in costumes for the reception, so my Mom thought they would get a kick out of a Halloween themed wedding card. Well after looking at my many Halloween stamps I didn't find anything that I like for a bride and groom. so I used the bride and groom from I think it is Stampabilities, will double check. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock from Stampin Up and embossed them in black. I used a Sakura Glaze Pen to color in the bouquet orange. I than used my Deckle Nesties to cut out the image and the orange matt behind the image. The card base is orange and I used a piece of black card stock and used the Martha Stewart Goo punch. Then stamped Mr and Mrs and embossed it. I took a sponge and Chocolate Chip ink and sponged the entire card base and the matt behind the image. I really liked how it came out. My Mom loved it. :) Thanks for looking.

Halloween card

This is the Halloween card I made for all my pen-pals this year. It is a Flap Card. First time I have done one of these. I found the instructions over on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ I also did a lot of embossing, which I seem to be doing a lot of lately. They were fun and pretty easy and quick to put together. I used orange cardstock and designer paper from Hobby Lobby. The image was a stamp that I recieved for my Birthday (which just happens to be on Halloween. LOL)last year from a pen-pal (Thanks Ma.) I used the Inverted Scallop Circles (also a b-day present from a pen-pal, thanks Sis, LOL). I stamped the image in Versa Mark on Whisper White cardstock and used black embossing powder to emboss it. The dash lines around the flap were done using a Sakura Glaze 3-D Glossy Ink pen, they are raised and look like they were embossed. Thanks for looking.

Wow Been a Long Time

Hello,

Wow, I can't believe that it has been almost an entire year since my last post. Things have been a little crazy around here to say the least. DH found a new job (whoohoo) which moved us from Texas to Iowa. He left for Iowa 3 months before the kids and I did so there was a lot to get ready for the move. Luckily the company packed us up and moved us so that took a lot of stress off us. The kids and I joined DH in March. The kids transitioned great, no major problems what so ever. Now that we are all settled into our routines, and my mojo finally made it from Texas to Iowa (it took forever to get here) I have been in the mood to make cards again. I have been trying out new folds and techniques which has been a lot of fun. This card is my first water fall card. I made it for my Niece for her birthday, I am told that she loved it. :) I really had fun making it for her.

Hello, hope ya'll had a great Christmas. We actually got to have a white one here in Texas, first time we have had a white Christmas since we moved to Texas 5 years ago. The kids were thrilled. LOL

These are the clipboards that I made for my mil Marie and my sil Joan. I got the clipboard at Walmart and painted one black and one blue. than I used a stencil and traced the cherries and the kitchen items onto the clipboards. I used paint markers to color everything in
and do the lettering. I than brushed a matte sealer over the entire clipboard. I used the back from a picture frame and glued that onto the back of the clipboard so that it would stand up. These were a lot of fun to make and very easy peasy.

Hello, here is my card for the CAS27 and SC240 challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. It didn't turn out exactly how I envisioned it but I still like it. It is a very simple card to put together. I used Kraft cardstock for the base. The stamp is a $1 stamp that I got a Michaels a long time ago. I stamped in Basic Black ink on Whisper White cs. I than used glitter on the wings and fun flock on the bee's body, I used a yellow Prisma colorpencil on his face. Used my nesties (thanks again Marcine, LOL) to cut him out and mount him on Navy Blue cs. I also used my circle Nesties and put clear Dew Drops on it. Very easy peasy.

This is one of the drawers in the dresser. It holds all my SU stamp sets with room for more. Wahoo!! :)
It is so nice having this dresser, love all the extra storage it gives me.

This is my craft table. DH bought it for me a long time ago for my birthday or Mother's day can't remembe which now. LOL I love it. It is really called a cutting table but has never been used as that. I love having all that space. It is a tall table so I sit on a bar stool when I craft. Underneath the table on the right, is where I keep my punches and Cuttlebug stuff.

This my ink pad holder. I recycled an old cassette tape holder that we had. DH mounted on the wall for me so it sit right in from me and is an easy reach.

This is the top of the dresser. I have some storage boxes on it now. They used to be on top of my craft table. Love these boxes, they each have 3 long drawers and hold lots of stuff, I have my heat gun in one. The tall drawers hold 12x12 paper.

The 2 baskets hold scraps as do the blue and green craft drawers.

Craft Room Revisted

Hello again. I am going to show an updated version of my craft space. My space is supposed to be the sitting area that is in our bedroom, well I took it over. :) My youngest DD got a new dresser yesterday, and we didn't really need the one that she had in there before, so I snatched it up and it is now in my craft space. The picture above is that dresser. I have so much more room now on my craft table and tons more storage. I am so loving it. hehehe

Challenge Card

I made this card for the CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. I made the card base out of Georgia Pacific White that I got at Wal-Mart. The images is the bird from SU's Birdsong set. I stamped it in black Stazon on SU's Whisper White cardstock. I colored it in with SU's watercolor pencils. Mounted the image on SU's True Thyme cardstock. Wrapped green ribbon around it and adhered it to the card base. The sentiment is also from Birdsong and stamped in True Thyme classic ink. A very quick and simple card, gotta love that. :)

Birthday Card

Hello again. Phew, is it hot here in Texas, we got up to at least 101 today. Good thing I like the heat, just wish we would get some rain, we need it. I finally got some time to make some cards this week. This first one is a birthday card I made for my Daughters friend, her party is tomorrow. We have had a weekend full of birthdays, my son had one to go to today, but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the card I made.

The above card was very quick and simple, just the way I like them. LOL I used pink cs for the base. I stamped the balloon from Stampin Up's Crazy for Cupcakes in black Stazon on water color paper. I than colored them in using SU's water color pencils. Still trying to get the hang of using the aqua painters. I mounted the watercolor paper on to dark blue cardstock and adhered to the card base. I used SU's black marker and made the tiny dots all around the balloons. In the corners I attached some pink metal dots that I got at Joann's. Here is a close up of the tiny dots that I put around the balloons. Thanks for looking.

I made this card for Richard's cousins wedding. Can you believe I didn't have one wedding stamp in my stash. What is up with that. LOL I found this stamp at Hobby Lobby, it is from Stampabilities. I stamped the image in black Stazon and colored it in with Prisma Colored Pencils and baby oil. I than cut it out and mounted it with pop dots on black CS. You can't see it in the picture but I put glitter on the tail lights and the heart. The bride and groom is a brad that I have had for a very long time and finally got the chance to use it. This is one of the cards that I made to go in my Mom's tin. I can't remember what the DP is but I know I got it at Michaels. LOL I used Stampin Up's So Many Scallops. I stamped the image and punched it out using the scallop Punch from SU, I than adhered the punched out piece to a piece of scrap paper and turned the image and punched it out again so it looks like a star burst. This is the card tin that I made for my mom. I really had a good time making it and filling it for her. The tin is from Michael's. The paper is from Paper Studios and I got it at Hobby Lobby. My Pen Pal Becki cut the letters out using her Cricut. Thanks Becki. :) I am still getting the hang of the camera so bare with me. Richard is going to make me a light box so that the pictures will turn out better.

We are still trying to get back into the swing of things since we got back from Omaha. We are still moving kinda slow. LOL

Sorry for being MIA, but our camera is still not working. Richard is hoping to work on and see if he can get it fixed. We have been extremely busy with the kids school/church/extra-curricular activities that we have barely had time to stop and take a breath. It seems the older they get the more time I spend in my car driving them around, but I wouldn't change it for the world. So please bare with me, and hopefully I will be back soon. Well, I finally have a couple of cards to show you and my darn camera won't work. It just won't keep a charge for very long. I am going to keep fiddling with it and see if I can't at least get it charged enough so that I could take some pictures. Sorry folks, keep your fingers crossed that I can get it to work.

It is hot here in Texas again, we got up to 104 today. Lucky for me I love all this heat, I just wish we would get some rain. We are so dry here. We have huge cracks in our yard

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted. We have been really busy the last couple of weeks, we had visitors and since it has been so hot here in Texas we have been swimming a lot, so I haven't had anytime to make anything new. Hopefully this weekend, I will get something made. See you soon!!

Yeah, we finally got some rain tonight. I can't remember the last time we had rain. We have been in the triple digets now for 13 days I think. The rain is much appreciated. I know you can't see it very well but I took a picture of the rain coming out of the downspout, it was raining to hard for me to get any closer without getting soaked. LOL But you can see the rain drops on the camera lens. Sorry there is no card, been busy this week, hopefully I will get one made sometime tomorrow. Thanks for reading.

I was on a stamping frenzy last night and than again this morning. I made 5 of these cards for my pen pals and plan to make more. I really had fun making this card. I got the layout idea from The Ultimate Paper Crafts Collection from Paper Crafts & Stamp It! I love this book, it has over 650 projects and ideas. I have another one of their big books (right now the exact name of it excapes me) that has a lot of tips and techniques in it. Anyway this card was really easy to make and came together really quick. We have been really busy with going swimming at the community center and over at a friends house so it was nice to be able to sit and make a quick card. I started this card last night but finished it today. I used a cranberry colored CS for the base. The DP is from a K-ology 6X6 Hannah Paper pad that I got at Michaels. I mounted it on True Thyme from Stampin Up. I used the Thank You stamp from the Seeing Spots set from Stampin Up. I stamped it in Cranberry Crisp ink on Whisper White CS. I than punched it out and mounted it on True Thyme CS. The ribbon is from Michaels. Thanks for looking.

I made this card for SC180 over at Splitcoaststampers. It has been extremely hot here in Texas, so I thought I would try and make a fall card, maybe it would make me think cool thoughts. LOL I haven't decided whether or not that I like it yet. I used Brown CS from Michaels, the white is Georgia Pacific that I got at Walmart. The DP is called Aqua Stripe from the Paper Studio that I got at Hobby Lobby. I used Baskets Full Of Fun from Stampin Up. I stamped the image in black Stazon and used my Prisma Colored Pencils and Colorless Blender pen to blend it. I than stamped the basket on a post it note to mask it and than stamped the apples in black Stazon and colored them in. I haven't put a sentiment on it yet I thought I would wait until I decided on who I was going to send it too. :) Thanks for looking. We are supposed to be in the triple digets in temps for the next 5 days so we will most likely be spending a lot of time at the waterpark. Have a great week and try and stay cool.

Card for Camp

This is a card that I made for Kaitlyn to take to Girl Scout camp this year. I made her about 6 to send to family and friends. I used Kraft paper from Hobby Lobby, and a scrap piece of blue. I used a Versamark pad and stamped the stars and Moons from SU's Halloween Backgrounds. The 3 images are Cuttlebug Die cuts. I paper pieced on each one, so my CB worked over time. :) Kaitlyn was gone for a week at horse camp, she came back home today and was full of stories. She had a great time and can't wait to go back again next year. This is her second time going to a Girl Scout camp, each one different. I would highly recommed if you have a daughter in Girl Scouts that you let her have the experience of going to camp whether it be a week, just over night or even just day camp, it is a wonderful experience. Kaitlyn has learned a lot and loves going. We are very lucky here in Texas that we have very nice camp grounds for the girls to go to. Thanks for reading.

These are the cards that Ethan and Lauren made to send to Kaitlyn at camp. Ethan's is on the

left (just the card) he worked very hard on it, and thought of the whole thing himself. He punched out the flowers and then drew the stems himself. The big brown thing in the middle is supposed to be a horse, because Kaitlyn is at horse camp. The card on the right and the 2 pieces of CS in front Lauren did. We put them in envelopes along with a magazine that featured the Jonas Brothers and mailed it on Monday. She should get it tomorrow or Thursday. Keychains and bookmarks

I finally got my camera to work for a bit. Now it is charging. :) I got the idea for the Keychains from Chic n Scratch you can find the link to the left under blogs that I read. Angie has a lot of great idea's and how to video's on her blog, she is a very creative lady. The books marks were a project that was featured over at Splitcoaststampers. They were very easy to make and I had a lot of fun doing them. I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the flowers in chipboard and then again in DP and CS. I get the jumbo paperclips and key chain hooks at Walmart. They take no time at all to make, in fact the thing that takes the longest is waiting for the glue to dry. I use an industrial strength glue by Alleen's to glue the paperclip between the chipboard flowers. Both of these projects are a great way to use up scraps. I am finishing up cards for my DD to take to camp with her, as soon as I get them done and my camera finishes charging I will upload them. Thanks for reading.

I made this card last night using Beate's sketch again. I still haven't figured out how to do a link yet, but I am working on it. I used blue CS for the base, the DP is from K and Company, it is from the 6x6 paper pad called Addison. I than put a strip for tan CS. The image is from Stampin Up's Oh So Lovely set. I stamped it on Georgia Pacific white CS in black Stazon and colored it in with my Stampin Up markers. The ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. Thanks for looking. :)

Just Bee-cause

I just love this bee. I stamped him on Whisper White CS in Black Stazon and colored him with Prima colored pencils, don't know if you can see it or not but I put glitter on his wings. I made the base out of Maroon CS and used tan for the squares. I cute a square of Maroon and used my Fiskars Ultra Shape cutter to Deckle the sides. Than I put 3 tan buttons at the bottom. This is a very quick and simple card.

Crape Myrtles

These are the Crape Myrtles that I have in my back yard. I have 5 total, these two are dwarf ones and the other 3 are more tree like, the tree like ones haven't started blooming yet. This area is still a work in progress as far as plantings and such, behind the Myrtles are Irises that have multiplied since we moved to TX 3 years ago, I need to move them cuz the Myrtles are starting to hide them. The Crape Myrtles smell so good when they are in full bloom. These two are my pink the tree like ones I have one white and 2 lavender colored ones. They are by far my favorite "plants" in Texas and they are everywhere.

I love this sketch, so simple and quick. I used True Thyme, Marrigold Morning CS from Stampin Up. The stamp is from Stampin Up's Blooming with Love. I stamped it on Whisper White CS in Black Stazon and colored it with my Stampin Up Markers. I put 3 metal dots that I got from Joann's dollar bin. I sponged the image with Marrigold Morning ink. I haven't put a sentiment in it yet cuz I don't know what I want to put on it yet. I used my Fiskars Ultra Shape cutter and the circle template to do the circles. I like the way this turned out and it only took about 15-20 minutes to make, gotta love that. :)

Sketch 182 Redone

When I made this card the first time there was just something about it that was off. I couldn't figure it out. So I asked my GREAT friend Lisa what it needed and she suggested sponging ink on the white CS so that it wouldn't be so stark, I liked that idea a lot, so that is what I did. Here it is with Creamy Carmel ink sponged on it. I really like how it looks now. Thanks Lisa knew I could count on you for good advise. Your the greatest Sis!! :)

Sketch Challenge 182

Here is my try at SC182 from Splitcoast. I had a lot of fun making it, but not sure on the main image. I don't have very many large stamps. I used Kraft cs for the base and maroon cs for the larger square and DP from Making Memories for the smaller square. I stamped the branch from Embrace Life, which is a Stampin Up stamp set in black Stazon on Whisper White cs. I colored it with markers and mounted on maroon cs and tied the ribbon around it. I used my Fiskars Ultra Shape Cutter to cut the squares out. I didn't take me long to make at all. I am going to go through my stamps and see what else I have that might work for the main image and give this one another try. :) Thanks for looking.

Sympathy Card

Richard also needed a sympathy card. I used a marbled yellow CS for the base. Daisy DP strip on the edge and blue for the second layer. Stamped the daisy on water color paper with black Stazon, used my chalk pencils and blender pen to color it in. I really like using the chalk pencils on the water color paper and using the blender pen to blend it all together. I used SU's Warm Regards to stamp "With Sympathy" first I stamped in Morning Glory ink and then stamped in Basic Black just a little "off". I like the way it looked, they yellow kinda gave it a little bit of a shadow effect. I mounted the daisy on yellow CS. And finished it off with yellow ribbon that I got from Michael's. I think Sympathy cards are hard to make, but I like the way this one turned out. I really like the layout. I saw the sketch on Beate's Blog, Fresh and Fun (sorry haven't figured out how to add a link yet). I love to read her blog and see the idea's she comes up with, she does such beautiful work. Baby Card

This is a baby card that I made for Richard for a co-worker that just had a baby. Used Blue CS for the base and cut yellow CS to fit on just the bottom of the card. I used the $1 alphabet stamps from Michael's to stamp "it's a boy". The baby stamp is from Dollar Tree (I think), I stamped it on Whisper White CS and matted it on a scallop punch out. The blue ribbon is from Michael's as well. Not sure I like the way this turned out but Richard liked it so I guess it is okay. :) Thanks for looking.

Roses

Here are a couple of pictures of a rose that has bloomed. It is the only varigated one that I have, don't know what it is called, all my rose bushes were planted long before we moved here, so if anyone out there has any idea's let me know please. :) I think it is a miniature rose but again not sure on that. My bushes don't look to good, they don't have to many leaves on the bushes, they are still blooming a little but not as much as they were. Last spring was a very wet one and was told by someone that they got what I think is called water spot. I am not sure how to fix that, any idea's that would help too. :) I am new to all this gardening stuff, so everything I do is a learning experience. But I have had fun none the lesss. Fathers day card

This is the Father's day card that I made for Richard. I used Navy CS for the base and Maroon CS for the strip. The stamp set is called For Father from Stampin Up. Love this set. I stamped it on Whisper White CS in Black Stazon and colored it in with Prisma colored pencils and used the colorless blender pen. I have been using that a lot instead of the baby oil to blend my colors. I used navy ribbon and the metal dots from Joann's. The Happy Fathers Day stamp is a $1 stamp from Michaels that I got awhile ago. I have been meaning to post this about a week ago but life has just been to busy. :) We joined the local Community Center that just opened up and have been spending a lot of time there, swiming and DH and I have been working out. It has really been nice and the kids have really enjoyed all the extra swimming that they have been able to have. We will get lots of use out of the center, I am sure. :)

Here is the card that I made for Ricahrd's birthday which is today. Happy Birthday Sweetie!! :) I used a Fellabella that was stamped and sent to me by Deb one of my pen pals, thanks Deb. I colored him in with Prisma Colored Pencils and mounted it on navy blue CS. I used Kraft cs for the base (I told you that I liked it), the DP is from K & Company. The black metal dots on each end are from Joann's dollar bins. Very quick and simple but I know that Richard will love it. :) Sorry for the somewhat blurry picture, I don't think I let the camera recharge long enough.

Sketch Challenge 179

My plan is to do the sketch challenges that take place on Wednesdays over at Splitcoaststampers to get better and to keep myself motivated. I had a lot of fun doing SC179. I got to use some of my smaller stamps. I will probably make a few more cards using this sketch. I used a lot of glue dots on the ribbon at the corner. I used stamps from SU's Simply Said stamp set, stamped them in Black Stazon on Whisper White CS. Colored them in with SU markers. The other papers are from Hobby Lobby. I like their Kraft paper it is pretty heavy weight so it stands up good. I have been using it a lot on my cards lately. :)

I also have a card that I made for Richard's birthday tomorrow, but I have to wait for the camera to charge so I will probably post that one tomorrow.

Just Because

I made this card for a friend of mine. Before I got married and moved away we did everything together. We used to share an apartment, and we were in each other's weddings. We have been friends for a long time. Well, she is going through a rough time right now so I thought I would send her a card to cheer her up and to let her know that I am thinking of her, she will get a good laugh out of this. I used Prisma colored pencils and the colorless blender pencil. DP is from Making Memories. Sentiment is from SU but right now the name of the set escapes me.

Not sure where I got the ribbon, probably Michael's. I also don't remember where the "thank you" stamp came from.

Teacher Gifts

These are the bookmarks that I made them. Again DP is from 2 different paper packs from Making Memories. I used the big and smallest flower dies and ran them through the Cuttlebug on the DP and some chipboard. You need two for each paperclip, front and back. I used Tombow Multi glue to glue the paper to the chipboard and than used and industrial strength glue to glue the paperclip between the 2 flowers. I put Metal Dots from Joann's in the center of the small flower. These are a lot of fun to make and very easy too. The longest part of the whole process is waiting for the industrial strength glue to dry (works best if you let it dry over night). Oh and I got the jumbo paperclips at Wal-Mart, they were very inexpensive. :)

Hi, I think we finally got the camera figured out, hopefully. I took pictures of the teachers gifts that I made for the kids to give their teachers (today is the last day of school). You will have to excuse the way the pictures look, it was very early in the morning and I wasn't totally awake and I haven't managed to figure out the best way to take the pictures, yet, but I am working on it. :)

Anyway I had fun making these gifts. I used an acrylic photo frame that I picked up at Michaels, I used the Teacher Bella (Thanks, Siobhan!!) and colored her in with Prima pencils and the colorless blender pen. The DP is from a paper is from Paper Studio's and I got it at Micheals. I got the post it pads am Target.

Graduation Card

I made this card for my Cousin's son. Hard to believe he is graduating from High School already. Boy does time fly. :) It was easy to put together. I used DP from the Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby, the cap is a $1 stamp that I got at Michael's, I think it is from Hampton Art, but not sure. I colored the cap in used Prisma pencils and baby oil and cut it out and popped it up with the pop dot. Fairly simple. It is really hot here so we will be doing things indoors I think. I need to start on teachers gifts. I will post them as a soon as I get them done.

Here are some pictures of my craft area. It isn't big but it is my little slice of Heaven. :) I finally got it all cleaned and organized so that I could take pictures. My table is actually a cutting table that Richard got my at Joann's. I love it, it has lots of open space. The ink holder is an old cassette tape holder that we had laying around the house so I decided to recycle it along with the T.V. stand that sits on the side of my table. The area is supposed to be a sitting area, but I think it is better as a craft area. LOL The big cabinet is one of those that you are supposed to use in a garage but we thought it would work really good as a craft cabinet, it holds a lot of stuff. Which is good as I have a lot of stuff, just ask DH he says that I have a "mini" Michael's up there. LOL The wall opposite my table is where I hang all the kids art work that they make for me, except for my cloud that my DS made me it sits on the wall in front of me. That is where he wanted me to put it.

Thought y'all might like to see a picture of our garden. We have tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, zucchini, cucumber, carrots and I have a small herb garden in there. Everything is growing pretty good except the green peppers, they are looking a little on the wilted side, I hope they will perk back up. But we will see, this is the first year we have had them. We planted everything else but the herb garden, and it really did well.

I made this card along time ago, but found the picture on the computer. I used SU's Gladsome Garden and I can't remember where the Hello stamp is from. It was a very easy card to do. I used DMC floss to do the stitches. I am going to have to try and make a few more. It was one of the first cards that I ever made. I cased the card from an issue of Papercrafts Magazine.

Valentines

These are the Valentines that the kids took to their parties at School. We had a lot of fun making them. I used the Avery Labels on the Hershey's nuggets, they fit perfectly around them. I used $1 stamps from Michael's and the kids colored them in. I know it is well past Valentines day but I had this picture on the computer so I thought I would just add here. :)

Ribbon Holder

This is the ribbon holder that DH made for me. He used an old pallet from work. I just need to paint it. I will be able to put lots of ribbon on it. As you can see I still have room for lots more. :)

Hello, I have decided to try my hand at blogging. :) I am going to start off with posting pictures of the garden journal that I made for my Mother-in-Law. She really loved it. It was a lot of fun to make. I used one of the $1 journal books that you can find at Michael's. Thanks for looking.
